The Cable Car<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From the La Mongie station<\/a>, the Pic du Midi cable car whisks you to the summit in 15 minutes, with departures every 15 minutes in a 45-person cabin\u2014just enough time to watch the peaks<\/strong> clear and the mountain<\/strong> lakes<\/strong> appear beneath your feet. The ascent covers a 1,000-meter elevation gain through the air, featuring a spectacular cable span over the void. The 2026 rate is \u20ac53 per adult, including a round-trip cable car ride, a discovery tour of the summit and the museum, use of the Histopad, and access to the Ponton dans le Ciel. The Pic du Midi Observatory, a starship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Pic du Midi Observatory is a world-renowned center<\/strong> dedicated to astronomical and meteorological observation since 1873, affiliated with the University of Toulouse. For more than 150 years, generations of researchers have advanced our understanding of the Sun, cosmic rays, and Earth\u2019s atmosphere. The solar telescope allows visitors to observe the Sun\u2019s surface and corona, while the museum space interactively traces researchers\u2019 contributions to our understanding of the solar system. The Pic du Midi is also home to Europe\u2019s highest planetarium<\/strong>, housed in the legendary Baillaud Dome. Another point of pride: the site is part of the Pic du Midi International Dark Sky Reserve, one of only two in Occitanie, guaranteeing exceptional nighttime viewing conditions. At the foot of the Pic du Midi, the Grand Tourmalet ski area\u2014created by the merger of Bar\u00e8ges<\/a> and La Mongie\u2014is the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees<\/strong>, with 100 km of trails spread across two complementary slopes.
